The top 10 hit was originally written by Nile Rogers and Bernard Edwards of Chic for the Soup For One film soundtrack and later became a staple on the Ibiza ‘Hacienda' scene. 40 years later (!!) it returns to us on a sweet and juicy platter, a thumping dance-floor classic with a sumptuous side of disco-reggae yacht rock feels. You now have the soundtrack to your future summer flings and failed romances… and you’ll be singing “La-di-da-di-da” for days. Holiday’s heart-string licking lusty vocals are backed by synth-boogie goodness from Coastal Elite – a collective that includes Josh Beagley (Swoop/Professor Groove & The Booty Affair/Confection), Michael di Francesco/Touch Sensitive (Future Classic), Harry Sutherland (Matt Corby), Moody Beach and more.
Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, full time jet-setter Holiday Sidewinder is currently living a mysterious existence in the Baltics, but has previously been found living in Thailand, Cyprus, Los Angeles and London. Sidewinder’s collaborative psych-pop album ‘Face of God’ with PNAU & Empire of The Sun’s Nick Littlemore was included in NME’s 15 Best Australian Albums of 2021, with rave reviews like “beautiful & brilliant” (NME), and “effervescent wonderland” (The Music). Her debut disco-pop classic ‘Forever or Whatever’ was included in the Guardian’s Defining Moments of 2019 as “gloriously shame-free” and earned her a cult following. Her cover of the Beach Boys ‘Kokomo’ with producer Coco Morier (Britney Spears/Icona Pop) has over a million streams and counting…
